KUNTUR: Spacecraft simulation tool

KUNTUR is a spacecraft simulation tool that includes dynamics, environment, and main perturbations of space. It has a module to insert subsystems into the spacecraft and add measurement and attitude control components.


On the other hand, you will be able to import real data to process it, and use it in the simulation, improving your models and comparing the final data.


Kuntur is the name of the Andean Condor in Quechua, an ancient language of South America.

Spacecraft Properties

The Add Spacecraft tool allows you to define the properties of your model, including the option to load *.stl models into the 3d display. Among the properties you will find:


  • Mass
  • Inertia
  • 3d Model
  • Orbit: TLE or Manually
  • Attitude
  • Step time propagation

Environments & Disturbances

Kuntur includes models of space environment such as magnetic field (IGRF13), atmospheric density, and solar flux. Each of the models can activate the disturbance it generates in the spacecraft dynamics.


Kuntur also includes ephemeris of the Sun, Moon, and Mars. We are already working on adding more planets and some asteroids!

Data Import & Export

If you have real data from gyros, magnetometers, sun sensors, among others, you can import them for comparative use in the simulation.

Kuntur allows you to import historical files in TLE format, to analyze the change of orbital elements over the life of the spacecraft.

When you finalize your work you can save your progress as a project or export the data.
